“480 Minutes” - Nazis Gonna Nazi
There is now a Department of Remigration in the U.S. State department. The President & Vice President have used the term publicly.
What is “remigration,” you ask? Remigration is rooted in the fever dream of the racist European far right in which white people expel (or murder) all non-whites & their children regardless of citizenship, legitimate concerns about safety if returned to their “homeland” (which in some cases will be the homeland of their great great grandparents, not theirs), homelands including Taliban-led Iraq.
Remigration is the forced removal of all people considered by deranged xenophobes to be immigrants regardless of citizenship, legal status, or anything else, really — it’s hate for the sake of hate. It’s a policy based on a fallcy about supremacy. It’s severe mental illness wrapped in cognitive dissonance. Left unchecked in our interconnected world it will eventually suffocate peace, love, compassion, freedom, & all those other things the “religious” & “conservatives” (who allowed this miserablism to fester in their ranks for electoral gain) claim to care about. And yet…& yet…here we are.
As with ICE, the claims made by the public-facing White Supremacists/Nationalists pushing this madness suggest that only the worst criminals will be deported. As with ICE here in the US, such claims are demonstrably false. ICE has detained & abused legal U.S. residents who have broken no laws including including full-on citizens & law-abiding immigrants working through the system to become citizens. If one reads the websites & social media posts of these hateful groups you will see right through their sanitized presentation for what it is: ethnic cleansing.
The founder & leader of the racist, nativist UK group Remigration Now in an interview said, “I don’t think we should have to gas people. I just say remove them.” He also thinks Adolph Hitler was “a very misunderstood politician” & casts doubt on whether the Fuhrer murdered millions in gas chambers: “I very much doubt the credibility of all that information,” he said.
Consider his statement “I don’t think we should have to gas people” for a quick moment. It’s based directly on something he denies, Hitler’s preferred method of mass murder. Also, “I don’t think we should have to” clearly leaves open the door to doing just that. Terrifying.
When career State Department officials objected to the name of the new office (to say nothing of this administration’s total reversal of long-standing U.S. immigration policy) they were told, “That’s not changing.”
The rascists & xenophobes & proponents of ethnic cleansing have tossed out the dog whistles & replaced them with bullhorns. The current U.S. administration encourages & incentivizes this mindless hate.
In other news Don Jr.’s wedding party included Russian oligarchs on the guest list, Putin-linked oligrachs who paid handsomely for access to the First Felon & his Family. While the administration pretends that Don Sr.’s vanity projects are vital to our national security the fact is that wedding was an actual national security threat. As is the First Felon’s plane. Da plane!
