“480 Minutes” - No Adults in the Room

How is it that after finally extricating ourselves after 25 years of war in the Middle East the U.S. finds itself in a new one, a war of choice, thanks to a president who ran on a platform prominently featuring the slogan “no new wars?”

When the administration hollowed out the Pentagon by purging decorated, experienced, & wisened generals it cleared a path for wars of choice w/o justifications, clear objectives, sufficient plans, contingencies, or exit strategies. There are no adults in the room left to tell Destructive Don & Pugilist Pete what’s what. As a result the most economically consequential strait on the planet is currently shut down, the country we attacked is exporting more oil at far higher prices than before the boneheads started bombing & has been so emboldened by administration incompetence that it’s reply to MAGA Man’s empty, blustery ultimatums to re-open the aforementioned strait has been, ”Nah. We gonna unilaterally control it, bitch.”

Nice work, boys! The regime you wanted to change remains in power, mocks your ultimatums, & has flexed so effectively that Trump has been forced to extend not one but two bullshit deadlines it set (Trump Always Chickens Out). With his no-plan “excursion” Trump has managed to: get thousands killed (including nearly 200 school girls), further destabilized the region, wreak havoc on energy markets, wasted trillions, all while giving Iran the upper hand.

All the while the administration continues to send out dopes like Mike Johnson to tell the world that we’ve won, we’re wrapping up this little escapade, while the reality is they are sending 5000 additional troops & massive military force to the region. Where we’ve won. Where things are wrapping up. MAGA voted for this self-styled Peace President who has now bombed 7 different countries & threatened others in just 15 months, but because it’s a cult, most still support their ever-grifting leader.
