“480 Minutes” - Vapid, Evanescent Lies
It’s becoming more difficult to see how any of U.S. allies (such less our advesaries) will trust us ever again after another week of nonsensical vapid & evanescent lies about the hell that Trump’s “little excursion” in Iran has wrought in just 3 weeks. As if that wasn’t embarrassing/awful enough, we also get administration toadies spewing meat-headed short-sighted childish bellicosity. From the 20-something Press Secretary (“paying for their crimes in blood!”) to the Fox News host turned Secretary of Defense who boldly claimed that there will be “no quarter, no mercy for our enemies” indicating that he doesn’t know what “no quarter” means or is publicly admitting he’s down with committing war crimes) to the Special Advisor in Charge of Cruelty claiming that “Trump was aware of” [Miller probably immediately realized at this point that he was already lost at sea so he did what Trumpers do, he doubled down on the nonsense, continuing] “and has calculated through, every permutation and every degree of strategy,” we are being subjected to a non-stop flood of life & death lies. Hot on the heels of the now obvious campaign lies about releasing the Epstein files & about Trump’s relationship with the child sex trafficker, it seems even MAGA sees through this Administration drivel.
Seemingly in an eye blink Trump has made America no longer appear even to Americans as “The Shining City on a Hill” spoken of by Ronald Reagan, John Winthrop, & that Jesus fellow. Instead it more closely resembles the “Great Satan” as described in 1979 by Iran’s Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. Had anyone told me in 1979 (or ‘89, or ‘99, or even 2009) that I’d even think those words I’d have called them crazy.
Where is the bottom? When will all of those three-time Trump voters have their moment of realization that their boy doesn’t know what he’s doing & whatever he is doing, it is most certainly not in their best interest.
The award-winning live-hosted 480 Minutes will once again today include a ton of new music including 🎵 by Heavenly (Oxford, England, @HeavenlyIndie), The Outfit (Welland, Ontario, Canada, @DanielRomano_official), Sella (Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, @senpaisella), Shop Talk (Brooklyn, NY, @ShopTalkTheBand), Sister Ray Davies (Muscle Shoals, AL, @SisterRayDavies), The Sophs (Los Angeles, CA, @sophsesque), Special Friend (Paris, France, @SpecialFriendMusic), & tofusmell (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, @tofusmell), a batch of terrific new ingredients for the nourishing indie/psych/garage/punk/shoe gaze stew that we throw together here on BAGeL Radio.
Apparently it was a good week to be an artist whose name starts with the letter S. Last week it was M. What will it be next week?!
I will never attend nearly as many shows per month as I did before COVID, but I’m getting the itch back & looking forward to seeing Heavenly, Swansea Sound, & Dry Cleaning amongst others in the coming weeks. Check out bagelconcertfinder.com to conjure a BAGeL-curated list of artists who will be performing near you.
BAGeL Radio is entirely listener-supported, so if the station adds to your life & you are in a position to help keep us on the air & commercial-free then please make a (U.S.) tax-deductible one-time or recurring donation. Thanks!
