“480 Minutes” - Colbert vs. CBS

Earlier this week CBS lawyers caved to new enforcement of a decades-old FCC rule currently being weaponized against TV shows that criticize Trump/speak truth. (The FCC itself issued an exception for this rule 20+ years ago admitting it was untenable to force shows to give “equal time” to every candidate running in a primary election). Due to pressure from the anti-free speech, pro-bullying administration, this interview did not air during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as planned. Instead it was posted to YouTube, where it has now been viewed over 8 million times. Nice work, FCC chairman Carr, you just made James Talarico known to & liked by far more households than he otherwise would have been. The (effectively) censored video is in the Videos section below. Watch it & see why President Pedophile Poopy Pants didn’t want it aired.

The importance of standing up to the bully cannot be overstated — this administration will threaten, browbeat, & take legal action to prevent legal behavior it doesn’t like. Taking away basic, long-established human & civic rights has been a major focus of the Trump administration. What’s amazing is that for conservative members of Congress & Supreme Court justices & in the general public, freedom of speech & freedom of the press were sacred. Now it appears that a grotesque distortion of the 2nd Amendment is the most sacred right to so-called “conservatives” in the U.S., meanwhile those self-same gun-humpers sit in paralyzed silence as an out-of-control tyrannical administration occupies & crushes what previously were calm, safe, & free U.S. cities. Sad.

BAGeL Radio is entirely listener-supported — when our NAS (network attached storage device) suddenly & unceremoniously called it a career yesterday we didn’t panic, we knew that if we couldn’t get it working again we’d be able to replace the essential hunk of hardware posthaste. That’s an example of your donations at work! If BAGeL Radio adds to your life & you are in a position to contribute, please help keep us on the air & commercial-free by making a (U.S.) tax-deductible donation. Thanks!

You can literally wear your support on your sleeve — purchase stuff from our merch store. You can find things like this t-shirt carrying a message about why we protest. Perfect for any occasion, particularly when taking to the streets to protest the trampling of the constitution embodied by sending unaccountable troops into U.S. cities to sow chaos, fear, & death, disappear citizen & non-citizen humans alike, all while the gov’t lies to us about what they are doing & why they are doing it. Did you ever think some masked thug would approach you to ask for your "papers" here in the land of the free & the home of the brave? Me either!

The t is timely, timeless, & who knows, maybe the simple message will get through to your MAGA neighbors. The shirt is soft & comfy w/ double stitching on the neckline & sleeves adding more durability to what is sure to be a conversation starter. Order yours now so you can wear it to the next No Kings events (thousands of ‘em!) on March 28th.
