Apologies for the technical difficulties this week. We had several bizarre technical issues all at once, or at least right around the same time: software, hardware, & back-end. The fact that there were problems at different levels of the process of making the bagels made diagnosing (not to mention navigating) said problems a (total fucking) nightmare. Sorry for the silence.

Looks like things are functioning properly now…everyone please cross their fingers that the duct tape holds.

As long-time listeners know, your host is no fan of Valentine’s Day. I’m all for love, romance, roses, chocolates, & showing our partners how we feel about them. The “holiday” as celebrated here in the U.S. quite nakedly excludes the unattached, however, & that is shitty. We need coordinated singles events where those not buying Hallmark cards can get together to discuss how much we hate everyone we know in happy relationships. Oops. That wasn’t supposed to come out quite that bitter & desperate. Alas, I said it, published it to the internet, & as we all know, the internet is forever.

Anyway, pop music is overrun with love songs, so there will be plenty of those in the playlist today, but we’ll try to balance things out by sprinkling in anti-Valentine’s & pro-self-love songs. See if you can spot them.

Tune in for today’s 480 Minutes program beginning at 9 a.m. Eastern U.S. Time. The show is live-hosted until 5 p.m. after which your host presents you with 2 hours of uninterrupted songs not heard during the previous 8 hours. After that the show will be rebroadcast in it's entirety on Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m., then again on Saturday at 5 a.m. & 3 p.m., & Sunday at 1 a.m. ET.
