“480 Minutes” - King Coverup

If you would have told me in 1998 that South Park would still be running in 2025 & that the President of the United States was a serial lying convicted felon & adjudicated rapist who at his best sounds like a less thoughtful Eric Cartman, I’d have laughed & then called to have you taken away. Alas, I’d have been wrong on both counts. Last month Trump said of his illegal & escalating murders of humans on boats (humans who have not been charged, arrested, convicted, or sentenced…hell, they haven’t even been identified!): “We're going to kill them. You know, they're going to be like, dead."

The guy who as a candidate for President last year promised to release the Trumpstein files is so concerned about the contents of those files that this week he used the Situation Room to try to badger Republicans into not vote to release the files. Amongst other national security & global threat events, the Situation Room is where Obama & his cabinet convened for the assassination of Osama bin Laden, Jimmy Carter worked to release the American hostages in Iran, LBJ got his daily updates about how many kids he’d killed that day, & JFK conducted crisis management during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Now it’s being used to manufacture a cover-up in real time as everyone is watching to help a serial lying convicted felon & adjudicated rapist who at his best sounds like a less thoughtful Eric Cartman escape consequence-free from his own pedophilic past which. Sad.

An unusual plug: if you are in the Austin TX area please check out this new art show at Verdant Gallery featuring works by fellow BAGeL Radio listener George Huffman. The opening reception is on Satuday, December 6th from 5pm-8pm & the show runs through January 31st, 2026.

Today’s (480 Minutes) show will feature another metric ton of new 🎵 by Middle Mass (Austin, TX, @Middle__Mass), Pictureplane (Brooklyn, NY, @_PicturePlane_), & Sorry (London, England, @SorryBandUK).

BAGeL Radio is entirely listener-supported — our ability to operate relies on the generosity of listeners. Times are tough for many, we know, so if you can’t help support us right now, that’s cool, we’re happy you are listening. If BAGeL Radio means something to you, if it adds a little something to your life, AND you are in a position to do so, please help keep us on the air & commercial-free by making a (U.S.) tax-deductible donation and/or upping your monthly contribution and/or buying stuff from our merch store, like our BAGeL logo stainless steel hot/cold bottle. I’ve spoken about how great these bottles are for years. Put some ice & your favorite cold drink in it, close it tightly, open it 4 hours later, it’s still cold & the ice is still (mostly) solid. Put steaming hot liquid in it (as I did last night & again this morning), close it tightly, & it will still be steaming hot hours later. There’s also a version with the Fuzzy Road logo. To our existing contributors, thank you for your continued support. To our potential contributors, thank you for considering making a donation.
