“480 Minutes” - Posse Comitatus
Anyone remember the Posse Comitatus Act? It was a cute little law which sounded like a 90s rap group but in fact made it illegal for the president to use the military for domestic policing? I don’t think it was ever deemed unconstitutional or struck down by the courts or anything, but it is apparently no longer the law of the land.
If you ever doubted the Republican Party’s commitment to the rule of law & upholding the Constitution, those doubts have been 100% confirmed. And to any “law & order” Republicans out there: care to explain how any of this is OK?
Feeding this unquenchable thirst for power & control & cruelty isn’t going to end well for brown people, women, non-Christians, anyone who is not straight, & will eventually devour the rest of American society making the Land of the Free & the Home of the Brave a bad joke.
Somehow (& I’m looking at you, mainstream media) the American people mostly seem blissfully unaware of any of this.
Suddenly President Battleships is talking about now OMB-director Rus Vought (who was the main force behing Project 2025) as if he’s the greatest thing since cliced bread saying that Americans love him & what he’s doing. A year ago Trump claimed to not know Vought or what Project 2025 was, he didn’t agree with it & had nothing to do with it, yet somehow he installed it’s architect & is cheering him on as he defunds “programs that they (Democrats) like.” Guess what Republicans: many of you like & rely on these same programs, programs brought to you by Democrats against Republican opposition, & you are going to miss them & suffer just as much as anyone else.
If you ever doubted the sincerity of the Republican Party’s commitment to “family values” those doubts have been confirmed for years & years but the whole Jeffrey Trumpstein fiasco has laid it bare once again — if their slovenly orange know-nothing embarrassment of a false god is guilty of gleefully participating in child sex trafficking, the reasoning seems to go: “Well, then, um, maybe, um, ya know, maybe child sex trafficking isn’t all that bad after all.”
On a lighter note, my vote for King of The World goes to Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania.

BAGeL Radio is entirely listener-supported which means we rely 100% on the generosity of listeners to operate. With that in mind, if you in a position to do so, please help keep us on the air & commercial-free by making a (U.S.) tax-deductible donation and/or buying stuff from our merch store, like this “Real Knees Suck” t-shirt, made by your host as a personal one-off design to make light of his new, fake knee. Others saw it & liked it so how could we not make it available in the BAGel Radio shop? (We couldn’t not, that’s how).
