“480 Minutes” - Positivity
Sometimes positivity is tough to find & even more difficult to manufacture.
After a week of feeling beaten down by (amongst other things) news of people being disappeared by the Orange Menace’s Secret Police in my neighborhood & hearing leading Senate Republicans say the right things about the pro-polio prick in charge of the Health Dept. but refusing to actually do anything about it, I was struggling to maintain.
This week I got together with a bunch of pinball friends, many of whom I hadn’t seen in a few months (partly b/c the NYC league takes a break over the summer, mostly b/c post-knee surgery I needed to relearn how to walk & stand w/o the aid of a walker or cane), which helped. I also got to play (& suprisingly not suck at) 4 of my all-time favorite tables: Attack From Mars, Star Trek: TNG, Theatre of Magic, & Batman 66.
That was my dose of positivity for the week. What was yours?
Today’s show will feature tons of new 🎵 including songs by The Beths (Auckland, NZ, @TheBeths), Ganser (Chicago, IL, @GanserBand), Gouwzee (Atlanta, GA, @Gouw.Zee), Hunx & His Punx (Los Angeles, CA, @HunxAndHisPunxOfficial), & Laura Lee & The Jettes (Berlin, Germany, @LauraLeeAndTheJettes).
